We are proud to share that "Baksteen in de maag" has been shortlisted for the anniversary Microhome 10 competition by Buildner!

In Belgium, they say everyone is born with a brick in their stomach - a deep desire to build one's own home. Yet, as housing becomes a luxury, we reinterpreted this national sentiment for a new generation.

Set in the gentle topography of East-Flanders, this project envisions a small, conscious dwelling for a young couple stepping just beyond the city. It is not about escapism, but a desire to live slower, quieter, and cleaner.

Compact yet open, the design features a generous workspace and a large window that frames the landscape like a painting. It is a rural form of sustainability: emotionally rooted and materially light.
